But I am glad to see a novel devoted to him. Maybe this will be a new series? Lists with This Book. This book is not yet featured on Listopia.

He's a little bit this: And quite a bit of this: Truly, Win is the reason why I have an unhealthy, obsessive love affair with every fictional morally gray character I come across.
He's a cheeky gentleman in public settings, and an absolute animal behind closed doors, and I mean that in multiple ways.
He has no problem delivering a good beat down and toeing around the constraints of the law to get what he wants, and he's also the proverbial ladies man.
If you're a long time Coben fan like moi, they you'll already be quite familiar with Win and his WASPish, deviant ways due to his reoccurring appearances in the Myron Bolitar series.
Win is more times than not the avenue Myron uses when he needs access to things that the police have, but cannot obtain through his typical private investigating channels.
If you know me, then you know that I'm a huge fan of Myron and co. As someone who has been waiting for a novel from Win's POV for 12 years, this book is kind of a big deal.
Clearly, a reader who is brand new to the author's work won't have the same visceral reaction to this story that I have, but if I can't win you over with the excellent characterization and "coming home" feeling that these books provide, perhaps I can win you over with the plot.
Here, we get not one but TWO mysteries to solve! The first crime was when Patricia Lockwood was kidnapped over 20 years ago during a robbery at her family's estate, and she's held captive for awhile before escaping.
Unfortunately, so did her captors, and what they stole from her family. Fast forward to modern day POV, and a man is found murdered in a NYC apartment, and Win's briefcase, along with the family's missing painting, turn up at the crime scene.
Clearly both crimes are tied together, and Win decides to branch out in his own investigation of sorts. I think I'll leave it there, but this book truly exceeded my lofty expectations.
It has action, intrigue, a dash of romance, and mention of some old characters that I think readers will be happy to be reunited with.
Whether or not you're a fan of the Myron Bolitar series, I think you'll be able to sink into this standalone and enjoy it just the same.

Articulate indeed. Oct 23, Jamie Rosenblit rated it it was amazing Shelves: most-anticipating. All opinions are my own.
Oct 27, Crystal rated it it was amazing Shelves: , suspense , october Just simply spectacular. Win is my favorite literary character, and I was so excited to see him get his own book.
He is who he is. And what a man he is. He lives by a code of justice and fairness, and will do almost anything to make what he thinks is right happen.
There are so many twists, turns, and Edge of your sea Spectacular. There are so many twists, turns, and Edge of your seat moments in this novel, and nothing really is what is seems to be.
Like I said, spectacular. Nov 01, Paige rated it it was amazing. Full review to follow. Oct 28, Sue Blanchard rated it really liked it. I honestly, absolutely loved reading this book. I have long been a fan of this author, so I was thrilled to receive a digital copy of this book.
The premise of the story sounds so promising and Mr Coben has certainly delivered. It was well thought out and written. The characters were well drawn, especially the central character, Win. With plenty of action, you are certain to keep turning the pages until you arrive at the stunning conclusion.
Certainly worth the sleep deprivation. I started reading this book on my break at work. BIG mistake. Win is impossible to put down. Highly recommended.
Win is one of the best characters around. The fact that he is the star of the book was a bonus. There were funny lines, tender moments and some excitement.
One thing that I struggled with was the large list of characters in the book. I would have to think about who they were and what happened with them before moving on.
Regardless, it was a fun book to read even though it contained serious content. I recommend this book! Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for the DRC.
Oct 21, Sherry rated it really liked it Shelves: kindle-reads , edelweiss. What's not to love about a book that's all Win, all the time?
An old case that's tied to Win's family surfaces and he's on the case to solve it in his own inimitable way.
Although Win doesn't call Myron to help him with the case, he reflects frequently on things Myron has done or things his mother's told him.
Loved seeing things from Win's perspective. Oct 16, Susan W rated it really liked it. Very good. Myron Bolitar's friend Win is back with his own book and no sign of Myron.
Win is out to solve an old mystery that ties together his cousin, the family and an old mentor, stolen paintings, missing girls, a building blown up and the deaths of a busload of people.
